"Blossom" is a story about a plum flower spirit, Mei, who is tired of blooming alone in the cold early spring every year, accidently meets the cherry flower spirit, Saku, who's appearance looks like her.
The plum trees' branches are still covered a thin layer of snow. Although it is spring time, the world is still slowly waking up from the icy winter. Mei, the plum flower spirit, sometimes feels alone when she helps all the plum trees bloom in the early spring. One year, she decides to wake up late and blooms in a warmer time, hopes that she can see other flower spirits blooming in the warm spring.
However, she meets the cherry flower spirit, Saku. He is very well known by a lot of people. While looking like Saku, people mistake Mei as Saku, since they both are pink and bloom on the trees. That hurts Mei's self-esteem. A lot of times, when Mei is alone in the snow. She hopes that someone will appreciate her blossoms. Sadly, not in the icy weather.
In the end, she finds her value, and realizes that she has her own unique strength within her all the time.
